Lecture with Kim Frank about the elephant conflict in India - October 10th in Oslo

Lecture with Kim Frank about the elephant conflict in India - October 10th in Oslo

Writer and documentary filmmaker Kim Frank has devoted the past seven years to documenting the human-elephant conflict in northeast India, in the foothills of the Himalaya, on the borders with Nepal and Bhutan.

This is a multi-faceted story of clashing cultures, habitat degradation, and competition for shrinking space between indigenous wildlife and people. Ultimately, this is a story of survival that could be repeated in many regions, with many species. Ms. Frank illuminates how disparate entities and people are striving to find solutions and bridge divides that have been in place for centuries.

The lecture is organized in collaboration with The Explorers Club, a multidisciplinary, professional society dedicated to the advancement of field research, scientific exploration and resource conservation.
