Tshering is one of the few IFMGA/NNMGA-certified mountain guides and instructors from Asia with qualifications from, among others, the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association (NZMGA), Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) and Ecole Nationale de Ski et d'Alpinisme (ENSA). Bhote is also the first RECCO instructor from Nepal.
Bhote has guiding and climbing experience from New Zealand, Norway, France, Scotland, Thailand, Bhutan, India, Pakistan and Tibet. He has guided on Mt. Everest many times, in addition to other mountains above 8,000 m such as Cho Oyu (8,201 m), Sisha Pangma (8,013 m), Manaslu (8,163 m), Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Makalu (8,463 m), Lhotse (8,515 m) and many more.
In 2004, Tshering and Jyamchang Bhote guided Randi Skaug to the summit of Mt. Everest as the first Norwegian woman. Bhote has also guided Tormod Granheim and Håkon Åsvang.
Long line Helicopter Rescue Specialist
Tshering was sent by Simrik Air to Zermatt, Switzerland for specific Helicopter Rescue Specialist training. He is now a licensed Rescue Technician. He has participated in a number of long-line rescue missions and has saved countless lives.
